CATV Cable Fault Locator Utilizes Time Domain Reflection (TDR) Technology

This locator is able to automatically locate any kind of RF cable fault such as short circuits, open circuits or high resistance joints and show the distance of the fault. GAO Instruments’ CATV cable fault locator, model A0500007, features a high tolerance for noise interference. It utilizes Time Domain Reflection (TDR) technology to display time domain reflection on its LCD screen and uses analysis software to analyze the status of a cable. The device can connect to a PC to upload files for data analysis. The CATV cable fault locator can be used as an amplitude marker to indicate impedance characteristics; it accurately tests 25, 50, 75Ohm and 100Ohm impedance cables with a length of up to 2km. The locator has a "Self-Study" function enabling it to accumulate intelligence after calibrating and testing a given type of cable of a certain length so as to achieve high accuracy in subsequent tests on similar cables.
